I have found that “peace and rest in a hurried world” is more received than achieved. Here are a few ways I am growing in receiving peace and rest:
- Early morning quiet time and solitude
- A good night’s rest and some swimming, running and stretching a few times per week
- Making daily progress little by little, rather than striving too hard
- Living in the moment, treasuring relationships and shared memories
- Having a mindset to more of a creator than a consumer
- Thinking of life as an epic story, an adventure to live, a beautiful film in living color
This was a great exercise for me, and more thoughts will probably follow. How about you? What things are helping you receive “peace and rest” today?

Hi Stanton, first of all i thank you for sharing your blessed talent and words… it’s very interesting for me to read your comments, in this moment where life is so confused to me. i’m also an artistic soul, and i’m at the point that i feel the need to change my life.i would like to change country and job (i have a part time secretary task)…but my fear to fail is so big, and i’m blocked by this… so peace is so a great need to feel. thank you very much for this

Hi Lucia, thank you so much for your comment and for sharing. I encourage you take baby steps, one day at a time, as you move in the direction that your heart is stirring you to follow. “A measure of fear is healthy” a mentor once said to me, so keep a long term perspective and stay encouraged that everything doesn’t have to happen all in one day 🙂 I am working to blog more regularly, so I hope the variety of posts will be helpful to you. Blessings to you, Stanton
