Valentine Love Song & Video

February 13, 2018 By Stanton Lanier 2 Comments

Instead of the usual free music stream for your reading soundtrack, this post is designed for you to first read the short story, then watch the Pure Fountain love song music video down below. If you enjoy, check out the CD or MP3 Album, or Sheet Music (or visit iTunes, Amazon , Spotify, Pandora, etc.).

Have you ever had a love song written just for you?

With tomorrow being February 14th, this question came to mind: “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we all had our own love song, written just for us?” I’ve got some good news — I think we do.

My worst Valentine memory is the year I forgot my wife had prepared a candle lit dinner for two, and I was over one hour late. Ouch. That one really hurt. Sometimes I can still feel like I am making up for this mistake that happened over twenty years ago (my wife has forgiven me, and yes, she still loves me!). Many Valentine’s celebrations have been wonderful. One of our family’s best memories in recent years was cooking a gourmet dinner to enjoy together.

In my brokenness, I frequently feel like I need to “earn” my wife’s love. It becomes conditional. If I “do this” or “don’t do that” then she will love me more. If I am not careful, I can also begin thinking incorrectly that God will love me more based on what I do or don’t do.

Pure Fountain is probably my favorite of three instrumental love songs I have composed (Captivating and More Precious are the other two). When these Scripture inspired piano melodies were born, I was writing them for my wife, but I was inspired by God’s unconditional love for me. His forgiveness, love and acceptance are not based on my performance, but on His grace.

So, read the few phrases below from Song of Solomon Chapter 4 (taken from The Message). Then, watch for them in the Pure Fountain love song video. Receive this as your love song — God’s love song, music, and words written just for you.

Dear lover and friend,
you’re a secret garden,
a private and PURE FOUNTAIN.

A garden fountain,
sparkling and splashing…

You’ve captured my heart.
I stay until dawn breathes its light
and night slips away.

Body and soul you are PARADISE.
One look my way and…
I was hopelessly in love!

As you watch the video, how do the words and melody speak to your heart?

A Love Song for Your 2018

Click above to use Pure Fountain as your reading soundtrack, from my 8th album Open Spaces. Then watch the Pure Fountain music video and receive this as a love song from God to you. You can order the Open Spaces CD or MP3 Album or PDF Sheet Music, or enjoy on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, and Pandora.

How can this instrumental love song inspire your 2018?

With the February 14, 2018 Valentine’s Day holiday approaching, I wanted to offer you a love song without words. Our favorite love songs with lyrics are wonderful, but sometimes creating a musical opportunity to listen for God’s loving “gentle whisper” or “still small voice” can provide a special blessing in my life. I hope you will receive this as a beautiful love song from God to you, and receive His blessing over you in this New Year.

Reflect on these words from the Lover (God) to his Beloved (us) in Song of Solomon, Chapter 4. Then, watch for them in the Pure Fountain video, and let the Lord sing them over you and your life in 2018…

“Dear lover and friend, you’re a secret garden, a private and PURE FOUNTAIN. A garden fountain, sparkling and splashing… You’ve captured my heart. I stay until dawn breathes its light and night slips away. Body and soul you are PARADISE. One look my way and…I was hopelessly in love!” (The Message)

Father God, thank you for loving me and forgiving me. Please show me your love today, and throughout 2018. Help me to take notice, and to share your grace and love with others. Amen.

“…the Lord’s unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in Him.” — Psalm 32:10 (NIV)

What is a “Pure Love” Song?

February 11, 2016 By Stanton Lanier 15 Comments

Click the play button above to listen to the love song Pure Fountain as you read…then pause it when you are ready to watch the video down below.

Have you ever thought about “true love” as “pure love?”

With the February 14th Valentine’s Day holiday approaching, I was thinking about how common the phrase “true love” is around the world. For example, “Yes, it must be true love” or “Have you found true love?” A phrase I have not heard used so much is “pure love.” Have you heard either of these before? “Yes, it must be pure love” or “Have you found pure love?”

Take a few moments to slowly read over the words below which express the depth and richness of the words “true” and “pure.”

TRUE: correct, accurate, right, verifiable, factual, what actually/really happened, genuine, authentic, real, actual, bona fide, proper; sincere, genuine, real, heartfelt, from the heart, loyal, faithful, constant, devoted, steadfast, unswerving, unwavering; trustworthy, trusty, reliable, dependable.

PURE: unadulterated, uncontaminated, unmixed, undiluted; sterling, solid, refined, one hundred percent; clarified, clear; flawless, perfect, genuine, real, clean, fresh, sparkling, unpolluted, untainted; wholesome, honorable, reputable, clean, honest, upright, upstanding, exemplary, worthy, noble, blameless, guiltless, spotless, unsullied, uncorrupted, undefiled.

Now, with these in mind, watch the Pure Fountain (Love Song) music video, and receive this as a love song from God to you personally. Listen to the music as a love song gift from Him to you. Meditate on the words from Him to you. Reflect on how much He loves you and believes in you — true, pure, paradise.

Words from the Lover to his Beloved (God to you) in Song of Solomon, Chapter 4:

“Dear lover and friend, you’re a secret garden, a private and PURE FOUNTAIN. A garden fountain, sparkling and splashing… You’ve captured my heart. I stay until dawn breathes its light and night slips away. Body and soul you are PARADISE. One look my way and…I was hopelessly in love!” (The Message)

Consider asking: God, would you reveal Your true and pure love to me more deeply?

Jesus sees us long before we see Him. He knows us. He brings to us His true and pure love. He brings to us His grace and forgiveness of our sin. Based on everything I know about Him, He believes in you (and in me). His is a “pure love” song.

A Valentine Love Song Just for You

February 6, 2015 By Stanton Lanier 8 Comments

Instead of the typical free music stream, for this post I am providing you with the Pure Fountain love song music video down below. If you enjoy, check out the CD or MP3 Album, or Sheet Music (or visit iTunes, Amazon , Spotify, Pandora, etc.).

Have you ever had a love song written just for you?

With one week until February 14th, this question came to mind: Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we all had a love song written just for us? I’ve got some good news — I think we do.

My worst Valentine memory was the year I forgot my wife was preparing a candle lit dinner for two. Ouch. That one really hurt. Sometimes I can still feel like I am making up for this mistake that happened twenty years ago (my wife has forgiven me, and yes, she still loves me!). One of our family’s best in recent years was cooking a gourmet dinner to enjoy together. There are many sweet Valentine memories filled with love and smiles.

How did this speak to your heart?

Thanking Our Mom – Happy Mother's Day Weekend

May 9, 2014 By Stanton Lanier Leave a Comment

https://www.stantonlanier.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/05-More-Precious.mp3

Click above to listen to More Precious from the album Still Waters. I wrote this love song for my wife in 2002. She is an amazing wife and mother, two things which are precious, and priceless. Mother’s Day expanded my thinking to allow this love song to be for moms as well, so feel free to share this special Mother’s Day blog post with streaming music above, and special video below.

Have you thought of your wife or mother as “more precious than jewels?” An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. Proverbs 31:10 (ESV)

I am thankful to still have my mom in my life. She taught me a lot of things that have traveled the years with me: share kindness, give encouragement, enjoy creativity, have fun, honor and respect others, laugh out loud, cry when you need to, bake blackberry cobbler like this (with the family recipe), love and trust God in life. These are just a few. She has also loved me, prayed for me, believed in me, and encouraged me. I am thankful and will always remember her caring, her character, and many special memories we share. All of these things are “more precious than jewels” (and rise above past disagreements or arguments).

Below is a special love song music video called Pure Fountain. If you are a mom, take in the music and text as a love song from God to you. His heart is filled with love, grace, and forgiveness toward you as a mother and in your life. If you want to say “thank you” or “I love you” to your mom, consider sharing this video link with her as an expression of your appreciation.

What is one special thing you can say or do to let your wife know, or your mom know, she is precious and priceless?

A New Way to Listen to Love Songs

April 4, 2014 By Stanton Lanier 6 Comments

Click above to listen to Pure Fountain (from my 8th album Open Spaces) as you read. If you enjoy you can stream, download music, or find sheet music at the following links: Open Spaces CD, MP3 Album, Piano Book, Pure Fountain PDF Sheet Music, iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Pandora.

Do you know those “Aha” moments? When a “light bulb” goes on in your brain about something?

Here is one regarding an interesting way to listen to love songs. This may not apply to every love song, but I think it applies to most. I believe love songs can be instrumental music inspired by romancing words, such as Pure Fountain, but for purposes of this idea, let’s define “love song” as lyrics searching for or affirming redeeming, romantic love, combined with a beautiful melody that sings to the heart. So, play your favorite love song and listen like this… If the music and words are affirming love, pretend the words are being sung by God to you. Receive the love song as written personally for you, and sung to you, by God. If the music and words are searching for love, pretend the words are being sung by you to God. Listen to the love song as written personally by you, and sung by you, to God. Do you get the idea? It may take a little practice, but it is worth a try. For me it gave some of my favorite love songs a deeper meaning and life application. What did you experience when you listened this way to one of your favorite love songs? Below I am including the music video for Pure Fountain so you can receive this as an example affirming love, where God is singing to you. I hope you enjoy!

Pure Fountain

February 7, 2013 By Stanton Lanier 4 Comments

Throughout January I was composing and recording seven new songs for the 2013 album Open Spaces, coming in August-September. This kept me from sharing new blog posts with the written word, but now I am back and will be posting throughout 2013.

Things don’t usually happen this fast, but in a matter of hours over the past week, a new Valentine love song, Pure Fountain, was inspired by Song of Solomon, Chapter 4. These piano meditations express the poetic words of the Lover to the Beloved, and birthed a new MP3 single and music video to share for Valentine’s 2013. You can listen to a 60-second sample here and also enjoy listening and viewing the brand new music video below. I hope you enjoy!
